While selling or buying a home can be an exciting experience, it can also be quite daunting. In my case it was the latter. Over the past year my mother’s health has been rapidly declining. It became apparent that she was no longer able to live in her home and I was faced with the realization that her house must be sold. This undertaking was overwhelming, and I didn’t know where to start. Michelle, a lifelong friend, guided me through this journey with professionalism, compassion, and diligence. Our initial meeting consisted of a presentation where she outlined the general process and prepared me for possible “extras”. There were multiple extras, which could have held up a swift closing. For example, an inspection showed that there were active termites. In fall of 2021, a visit to family further south gave us the idea that making a move seemed like a possibility for the not too distant future. We had 2 kids starting their first year of college and a junior in high school. The nest was emptying out and life was shifting. We had been in our Bridgewater home for close to a quarter of a century - it was the home we raised all three of our children in and 3 dogs whizzed through all three levels of the four-square colonial.
